About Us
We all met as members of Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity at Florida Institute of Technology around 1990-1995. We have been on many road trips together throughout college. At an alumni reunion, it was preposed that we start a summer baseball roadtrip with the intent of visiting all of the stadiums. Summer 2000 would be the first trip and of the whole group there ended up being only three takers, Dauber, Lumpy and Mike.
The next year we added on Cooter who had moved home to Ohio after grad school at Texas A&M, and also had Pyle show up for the Jake and also allowed us to crash at his place outside of Cleveland for the final night of the trip. We drafted some hot rookie prospects for the 2002 trip which was a blast, but the three of us are the core of the trip and the mitigating factor for declaring success after visiting all of the parks.
As for the website, the idea just came up out of the blue on the 2001 trip. We had a lot of digital photos from the previous year so there was some material to work with. We stared looking online for other similar websites and found there to be quite a few but most of them dealt with a 30 stadium continuous trip, not spreading it out over years and years. This factor makes our site unique because it is only in it's infancy and there will be more and more to read in the future. Subsequent trips have taken on a totally different meaning now that the website is up because we will document everything and be able to provide many more details. Work on the website began shortly after the 2001 trip and took about 3 months to get to a point where it was "done enough" to be put online. If anyone has any suggestions for our site or advice on future trips, let us know!
